Six Pack of Peaks: New England – Mount Monadnock

Group I met through work and 1 met at Monadnock State Park Headquarters Trailhead Parking. From Trailhead Parking we took White Dot Trail then to the summit. Weather was a bit overcast and breezy above treeline. Even though it was overcast treeline and above we were able to get some views. At the summit we had 360 views of the valley, towns below and distant mountains. At the summit breezes were cool and many other hikers hunkered behind larger rocks as we did until we were ready to head back down White Dot Trail to White Cross Trail. It was nice to see there were many on the trails and on the summit for the holiday weekend. It was definitely a great hike with challenging points going up steep rock slabs to summit but was worth it. It was also nice to be able to share my experience with our work hiking club members that wanted to join in the journey. Monadnock never disappoints.
