We got a pretty late start, leaving at 2:30pm and reaching the summit sometime around 5pm. Lots of people were hiking the AT in sections or backpacking the general area. We saw cows and wild ponies, and took the horse trail back to the car to enjoy the balds that are adjacent to the AT.
