Mt Cucamonga
Also on this hike
the mountain called — and I answered.
The trail wound upward, relentless, until a stretch of shade offered a brief mercy: a moment to breathe, to gather strength for what remained. Around each bend, the views unfolded like a promise — pulling me forward, step by aching step, toward the summit I could feel but not yet see.
And then — the top. The world fell away beneath me, and in its place: silence, clarity, peace.
In that stillness, I understood something larger than the hike itself. The exhaustion, the doubt, the sheer will it took to keep climbing — none of it was wasted. It was the price of the view, and the view was worth it.
sometimes, the only way through hard days is to keep moving toward the light. And when you do, you find you’re standing on top of the world.
