Mt Helen

Saved the best for last. Definitely the hardest out of the six. When you think the trail can’t get any steeper, it does. The trail is fine to horse camp, then after that it can get difficult to follow at times. We lost the trail when we were to turn off the summit trail and head directly to Helen lake. We use all trails gps, and the green guiding trail was no where near the turn off for Helen. I would strongly advise following the trail markings instead of the all trails guidance at that part. Conditions were good, no snow to cross. Helen lake is just a big pile of snow so don’t expect to jump in. This hike is steep and not for inexperienced hikers.
