My friends and I have summited Mt. Pinos in the past, but I have never summited on snowshoes (first time snowshoeing). It was a gorgeous day; mid-30s; 4-5′ snow base; day old powder in places; and snow flurries in-between bright sunshine. Snowshoeing made the hike more difficult for sure, so I don’t feel like I am being lazy about the Challenge (Besides… I did Mt. Baldy last year when I wasn’t registered).
