Started  the hike at 530am. Several people were parked by the trailhead. It was cold at first but once I got to the waterfall my body had warmed up and I needed to take layers off. I got to the Ski Hut around 715am and took a quick break. It began to feel a bit warm but it wasn’t unbearable. I reached the peak around 915am. At the peak it was very windy, my hat almost blew away a few times. I had a snack at the peak, took my pictures and continued. Since it was getting hotter, I decided to take a shorter and more direct trail back to the car. I went down Devil’s Backbone for a bit then got on the Register Ridge Trail, it is a bit hidden but I kept my eye out, there are no signs. Register Ridge is very steep but it cuts the trail back quite a bit. This trail has a lot of loose rocks, I fell once. I wouldn’t try to ascend through this trail. This trail  drops me on the same trail that I ascended on. Once I got back on the main trail the heat was hitting hard. At this point the beginning of the trail was not too far. I got to the car around 1130am. I had great time exploring this area. I would like to do it again when it is not too hot and I can spend the time hiking Devil’s Backbone.
