Mt. Taylor/Tsoodzil
Also on this hike
Headed up Mt. Taylor/Tsoodzil barefoot, in search of Navajo Holy People including Turquoise Boy and Girl, Blue Corn Boy and Girl, and Cougar, who are said to live there. Enjoyed the soft trails through pine and aspen, which emerged on a steep climb up a grassy slope to the ridge crest. Hung out in the spruce grove at the summit for a little while listening to the birds. Hustled back down as the wind picked up and a crack of thunder rang out. Did not see any of the Holy People, unless they were disguised as a pair of day hikers.
