Beautiful weather, lots of sunshine, but a few clouds and a cool breeze. There are still some flowers blooming and the ground cover is very colorful. The leaves of the quakies and maples are just beginning to turn colors. Mule deer: we saw a momma and baby goat, two young bucks some does and a mom and young one. We also met some very nice fellow-hikers on the way.

There is no water up there, so pack plenty and then rehydrate well after. Because it was a cool day, I was conservative with my hydration and paid for it the next day.
