Mt Umunhum

This hike was surprisingly very evenly graded and had tree cover about 80% of the time. The gate was open for the final ascent to the radar tower so we completed that portion, too. The late summer weather was perfect- not too hot, not too cool. We heard a lot of birds; saw a hawk and quite a few squirrels and a loud shrieky chipmunk. The views from the top were decent, though it was somewhat hazy and we couldn’t see Mt. Diablo. It was a great day hike.
