Perfect conditions to beat the heat in the valley and hike with a friend to the Umunhum peak. Her first time out here. Didn’t encounter many other people. Started around noon. Brought snacks to enjoy at the top. Total hike time was 3 hrs 28 mins, and started around 1 PM. Some flowers still blooming along the route. Trail in great condition. A few mountain bikers and hikers, but not crowded. There was an organized race underway but only saw a few people wearing race numbers. Clean (as can be) restrooms at start and peak.
