Mt. Wilson

Due to the wildlife recently, Covid closures and being a weekday…the observatory and gates were closed. The restaurant was closed too. I ended up hiking red box canyon~to where Sierra Madre intertwines together.  Unfortunately even at 10:30am the gate was still not open to cross. I added more mileage by hiking back down to red box area where Mt. Lowe is, and hiked Mt. Lowe too.  This was a different way than I previously hiked to Mt. Wilson, but fun to see new areas and at this point there were only two ways to get there since every trail is closed -otherwise. According to the Mt. Wilson website, the observatory and store may be open this June~ so if that happens, I will go back and hike another route and explore the observatory more.
