National Vocanos for DAYS

It took a bit to find the actual trailhead.  Pay close attention to the tiny parking area.  You might actually see a super sweet dog running around – HE WILL FOLLOW YOU ALL DAY LONG!  Just don’t let him in your van!  We met the mayor of the town in the morning – he runs the local coffee spot in town and is SUPER friendly and helpful.  That said – as cool as it was to see more of Oregon and to drive over the divide, I could have done without this hike.  It brought us into taller grass and the fear of rattlesnakes just took all the joy from my day – BOOO!  Fortunately the rest of our day was spent in the painted hills and that was more than amazing – making up for any scary mile in the high desert!
