After climbing Woodson Mountain, I drove out to hike Volcan Mountain. The trailhead was busy, but just as I arrived a car pulled out and I grabbed a parking spot at the start. It was breezy, but when isn’t this hike? I did miss the bring our dog memo, as almost every hiker I saw had their caine with them. Opted to skip taking the 5 Oaks trails, just to save a little milage. Cruised up and back, then headed home. 2 done, 4 to go@

  1. Hi, Chris! When we met you on Volcan Mt. today and talked about the 100 Peak Challenge you’ve done before, none of us mentioned that we are doing the 6 Peak Challenge… haha. Funny to see your logs online. We are doing both San Diego and SoCal and trying to hit all 19 peaks. Maybe we will run into you again. VC and Tommie

    1. LOL! I did have my tag on my Osprey Talon… I think the best you can do for the Six Pack will be 17. Baldy and Santiago are probably going to be closed for all of 2025. To learn more about the 100 Peak challenge, visit https://100peaks.com/challenge. I was the 3rd finisher. :). All my trip reports are at sdpeakbagger.com, so if you opt to tackle it, you can use that as a resource. Happy hiking!
