Last year I did my first peak on New Year’s Day (I think). This year I’m a bit slower! I announced my plan to do Black Mountain to a few friends last week, and one of them asked me to wait a week so he could join!
We met at the “back entrance” on Laura Court, where there are no parking difficulties, and off we went! Beautiful day, with only a handful of people on the trail in this remote section of Rancho San Antonio. Most of the route is quite wide, so we only masked-up the few times we passed other groups. My cycling buddy stretched a few of his non-cycling muscles, and enjoyed the hike!
