Oh Deer!!
Also on this hike
Good news: the road to the trailhead parking lot is open, making access easy. The weather was just about perfect—not too hot, with plenty of shade along most of the trail. The summit itself was much more exposed, so definitely bring sun protection if you’re heading up.
A few bugs were out, but nothing too bothersome. The highlight of the day was spotting a deer along the trail—those unexpected wildlife moments always make a hike extra special.
Beautiful views, great conditions, and another reminder of why this remains one of my favorite Southern California hikes.
