The trail is more of a dirt road to the top also used by Forest Service vehicles – only saw one. Just over 10 miles total, relatively steady incline, nothing too strenuous. Good views of Sunset Crater along the route with a lookout tower on the top. Nice escape from the Phoenix heat too.
