Once you go Black [Mountain], you’ll always go back!

There was only one other car on the street when I arrived at the trailhead. I started around 730am and by the time I joined up with the main trail it was active with plenty of trails runners and other early bird hikers.
Gorgeous day, with perfect weather. Trail conditions were excellent, which was surprising, considering the rain we got this past week. I reached the top around 945am, but it was a little brisk and windy at the summit, which felt colder because I was soaked in sweat.
After putting on a another dry layer, I ate a snack, relaxed, took some photos, and enjoyed the view.
I had the top to myself for about 10 minutes before a large group reached the summit and decided to stay for a rest as well.
Finally I decided to put back on my pack and make my decent.
Got back at my car by Noon, where I decided to rest again, hydrate, eat some lunch, and stretch out before making the 2 hour drive back home.
Peak number 4 of 6 bagged for the 2025 season, and probably one of my favorites on the SF Bay Area list.
