We started at 4am to beat the heat (heatwave that weekend). I love starting in the dark, so you can hear all the birds start to wake up as the sun begins to rise. I’ve hiked cucamonga a few times, but this looked a lot different right after the saddle. I thought the bottle opener was interesting — if you were going to bring a bottle of beer, wouldn’t you bring an opener? Personally, I would just bring a can. Very hot coming down. My husband and I were very glad that we had a very early start.
