Our First Peak

My girlfriend and I started the ascent a little late in the day but were excited to start the new year with peak hike. 3/4 of the way up in the shadow and shade of the peak the cold air hit us. As we hit the last uphill mile to the top the footing was more of a priority in our thoughts than the weather. Soaked in the views and started to watch the sunset but with the remaining daylight we decided to make our way back down. Ran most of the downhills until the light of the flashlight was no longer enough. We walked and talked the rest of the way down. Amazing company and a good first peak. 5hrs round trip.
