Over the clouds „Kalawpa“ aka Santiago Peak

Left at 7am at the closed gate, short road hike but 3river crossings to the Holy Jin Trail Head. Nice overcast sky made the air cool for the whole way up! Amazing flowers blooming! After Holy Jim we went left on the road up to the Santiago Peak and „walked above the clouds!“

On that road we encountered Off Road Vehicles (a cyber truck!) motorcycles… and bugs! Not so fun, but the peak in view we pushed on!
10miles & 10 miles down!
The way back was beautiful, we stopped at the Creek and cooled our feet and filtered some water!
The landscape was now fully visible and made the downhill look like a new path!

Back at the parking lot was a bunch of people and a park ranger to control traffic!
