Palomar high point
Also on this hike
The trail was perfect. There was a tiny bit of snow here and there, which was really enjoyable to crunch on, but did not require micro spikes or crampons or anything else. The beginning of the hike is the hardest part and is under direct sun so we all felt somewhat overheated given our winter clothing, but after the first 2 miles going was great, and I hiked mostly in a long sleeve bass layer with a very thin fleece over it for the majority of the day. The only time I put on any additional layers was at the summit when we hung out for 45 minutes and ate lunch.
