Drove out nearly an hour on a Sunday to complete this hike. Passed the Mount Baldy town and arrived at the Ice Canyon Trail just a few miles past.  I parked on the side of the street and this is some useful information because if you do park in the parking lot, you might get ticketed! I saw a ranger giving out tickets as he was explaining to someone that they’ll need an Adventure Pass or a Day Pass in order to not get ticketed. You can get these online or at the office in town.

Overall the hike isn’t too bad as the incline wasn’t too steep. There are however many switchbacks so it does get kind of repetitive. It’s also not too long as it’s only about 5.5 miles to the top, which took about 3.5 hours for me. (I’d say I do an average hiking speed)  The peak has some cool things as I saw notebook people signed their names in and wrote messages. They also have these placards so then you can take pictures. I did a solo hike so it was all selfies for me! Besides the peak itself, the trail offers some nice views. The beginning has water cascading down the mountain. You also get a mix of some rocky parts and several flat trails. Overall, it can be done in about 6 hours or you can just do a late morning start like me!
