Party at the Top
Also on this hike
The hike felt really long, both climbing and coming back down. We brought snow crampons in case we needed them, and we used them. Not sure if they were really needed but always better safe than sorry. The park rangers were at the trailhead warning everyone to be careful for ice. The trail has snow but was not very icy.
We headed up around 7:30 and arrived at the peak at 12:15. I was disappointed that there were so many people, talking and playing music so I wasn’t able to actually experience the peak for more than a few seconds because we had a dog with us. We took our picture with the sign and came down a little to eat lunch.
We headed back around 12:30 and arrived at the car around 4:15. So almost 9 hours round trip. Going up was hard with the altitude for me and coming down was hard on my toes. I need better boots.
But I made it!
