Pretty and Challenging

The trail was easy for the first mile with slight decline, but then the incline started and was worse the last mile before the lookout tower. There was little shade after the first couple miles, so staying hydrated and reapplying sunscreen was a must on the hot summer day. The views were wonderful throughout.  The lookout ranger was very friendly and chatted with us a bit after we went to the top of the tower for more great views.
