Two days, two peaks – after yesterday’s summit of Mt. Diablo. Finally got to summit Mt. Tam after running several of its trails (mostly Dipsea) over the years. From the Hogback Fire Road trailhead next to the Throckmorton Fire Station, turned onto the Matt Davis Trail and was blessed with great trail conditions and a crossing of the bridge over Fern Creek with its waterfalls. From there to the Mora trail where I encountered the West Point Inn before the last section up Old Railroad Grade Road. At the top needed to make my way somewhat carefully on the rain and mist slicked plankwalk trail to the East Peak fire lookout. Cloud shrouded and rainy at the peak, so no great views, but a great trek that had long been on my bucket list.
