Return to Bear Mountain
Woke at 4 am in Phoenix, after driving over the day before from San Diego. Got the trailhead just before 6:30. It was already warm, but had some shade for a bit as I worked my way up the mountain. I had climbed it back in 2020, so I had a general idea of my route, but those white blazes are a lifesaver. I did remember to bring my rubber tips for my trekking poles! The view from the summit was fine. The real views are actually on the descent, looking into Fay Canyon and the regions beyond. Was up and down in 3 hours, with just a short break at the summit.
