Rose Peak

Rose Peak…We picked the right days to backpack it, weather was pretty nice both days, little warm on the way up and cooler on the way back.  The top of the peak was windy but our camping spot didn’t have the wind.  I really liked Maggie’s Half Acre as far as it was remote but unfortunately it seems to be the flight path for all the airports in the Bay Area…very low, loud planes while trying to sleep.   It is a tough hike especially with a pack on and I am REALLY impressed with those folks that do it in one day!  Views were great and the hills were still mostly green but were starting to brown, wildflowers were out there for us to enjoy.  Saw a new born calf…
