Trail was in good condition! Definitely cooler on the trail than down in Palm Springs (100+). The bugs didn’t bother me. My husband carried our 5 month old up to the peak in an Osprey backpack carrier. There was a good amount of shade pretty much all the way to the top. Once you get to the peak, there is some rock scrabbling to reach the San Jacinto sign.

Overall I enjoyed the hike!
