San Jacinto from Sunrise
Also on this hike
We attempted this hike just after a large thunderstorm had passed by. This made getting in and out of the parking lot difficult as a lot of it was washed away. However, the trail itself was in great condition!
We started our hike just after sunrise and very soon got to see the valley below, which made for some dramatic early morning views. The trail was relatively uncrowded until we linked up with the peak trail from the tram. The peak itself was quite crowded but we managed to find a spot to sit and have some lunch. The hike down was straightforward but felt long since the alltrails mileage estimate had been 12 miles and the signage along the trial made it seem like a 10 mile out and back route. According to my watch, it was a nearly 14 mile hike. Not too bad, but it was a surprise!
