Hiked with a partner

Yesterday my son Jared and I hiked our final peak for this challenge, Santiago Peak!  We drove up to Maple Springs through Silverado Canyon.  The road was dirt and bumpy, I’m glad we drove our Rav4.  The hike was mainly on a fire road.  The trail was less beautiful than many others, however the view more than made up for it.  We started early so we looked down on clouds at the beginning.  As the hike went on we were able to see the ocean, Mt. San Jacinto, Mt. Baldy and more.  I really enjoyed spending the morning with my son.  When we started this challenge, I was very skeptical about my ability to complete it.  I still feel fairly amazed and grateful to know we’ve completed this challenge.  It was hard, beautiful and totally worth it.
