Santiago Peak With Off-Roading
The Holy Jim Trail was closed when I drove up to the entrance of the national forest. I then decided to try the back way by driving up the off-roading trails that led up to the peak. I pulled over a few miles out and hiked the rest of the way up! There’s a lot of burned areas around the peak from the wildfire a few years ago. Trails off of the main road are still passable, however. Once you reach the summit, there’s great views of Angeles National Forest, San Gorgonio Mountain and Mount San Jacinto! If you’re looking to combine hiking with some off-roading, Santiago Peak is a great day-adventure!
