Santiago Peak via Maple Springs Trail
Also on this hike
We took the Maple Springs road up to where it connects to Harding and N. Main Divide. The drive is mostly single lane and the last 4 miles of it is a somewhat rough dirt road. Average speed on that stretch was ~10mph.
Plenty of space to park once you get to the N. Main Divide intersection (one of my pictures is looking down at that spot – you can see other cars parked there). And then it’s 9.5 miles RT. Beautiful day for a hike, almost too warm. This route has really nice views the whole way.
It is a fire road basically the whole way so you will have motorcycles, offroad trucks, and bicycles, more so than hikers, though we did see some.
