After climbing Throop Peak, Mount Burnham, and Baden-Powell in the morning, it was time to drive over to my final set of peaks, Mt. Pinos and Sawmill Mountain. I was planning on car camping again, but a mix-up with my reservation nixed that. So, I decided to go ahead and grab these peaks as an afternoon hike. Figured I could take my time to let LA traffic ease up before driving home, so no need to rush it. While it was a touch warm, the breeze and shade were enough to offset it. I felt pretty good once I reached Mt. Pinos, so I continued on toward Sawmill. Keeping a measured pace on the climbs, I again reached the massive cairn atop Sawmill. Snapped a few photos and headed back. It has been a while since I had hiked this many miles.
With that my three days of adventures came to a close. Six peaks summited, 3 off the Six-Pack of Peak list. A full trip report for this hike is coming soon at sdpeakbagger.com
