Hiked to Sawmill Mountain and back on Wednesday, July 7 on my way home from Mt Whitney (summited July 6). Started at Nordic Station at 2:00 pm so it was hot out but the shade and slight breeze made it pleasant. This is a great trail. The views were beautiful. Lots of butterflies. Not sure what all the buzz was in the parking lot but it looked like they were filming something at the nearby camp because there were lots of trailers and equipment.
