Great hike! Not that difficult, but still challenging. Parked at the parking lot of the Mount Pinos Hiking Trail. Need an Adventure Pass to park your vehicle. No bathrooms available at the parking lot. There are clean porta potties at the camp ground approximately 150 yards north of the parking lot. Most of the hike is shaded to Mount Pinos and Sawmill Mountain. Definitely recommend wearing pants, due to the over growth of bushes. A lot of flies in the area, but they pretty much left you alone. Great views during the hike and at the peaks. On our way back, we came across a rattle snake on the trail. Be careful! Started our hike at 0700 and it took us 4.5 hours to finish, which included our breaks. Went approximately 7.5 miles and climbed 1600 feet of elevation gain.
