Ontario Peak was the last hike of my So-Cal Six-Pack of peaks challenge and I’m glad to have saved the best for the last!

I started at 8 AM on Friday. The parking lot was mostly empty and so was most of the trail. This is quite a contrast to weekends when Icehouse canyon trail can get very crowded.

The trail from Icehouse Saddle to Ontario Peak is incredibly scenic. It was very windy on the trail by the ridge line and at the summit. However, there are some jaw-dropping views of Baldy, San Gorgonio and San Jacinto.

Overall, the hike was 12.36 miles out and back, with a total ascent of 4030 ft. Can’t wait to do this again.
