Short and Steep to Mt. Baldy

Hike Beyond The Hills hiking crew tackled Mt. Baldy (10,064’) once again via my favorite route up, Register Ridge, which is 2.25 miles steep, straight up to Backbone Trail. It makes the last mile ascent to the summit “easy”. ???? We descended via Ski Hut Trail. It’s been a long while since we’ve come down this way and got reminded how steep and slippery it was. ????Ugh. Mt. Baldy is the tallest peak in LA County.
Total 7.5 miles, total 3,877’ elevation gained, burned total 1,633 kcal. ????
