Shrooms, berries, and a summit…I think?!

We set out for this hike the day after a massive downpour and it was a bit wet, but nothing that couldn’t be handled with ease. The clouds were still hanging in a fog around us so everything was soaked by the time we got to the top. We had the entire mountain to ourselves until we hit the trail back down.

If you’re hiking with a dog, there’s plenty of spots you’re going to have to push that little doggy rump up ahead of you. Large and steep granite slabs are hard for those puppy paws. Took us 6.5 hours round trip.

Whether it was just the weather at our given time, or the norm, I cannot say…but I would bring nice dry clothing layers for when you reach the top. I found it to be very windy and chilly and if I was stuck wearing my sweaty t-shirt I would be in danger of a little hypothermia.
