Sitton Peak
It seemed we were late at 6:45am. With the parking still closed, both sides of the road were almost full. Lucky enough to snagged one more near the gate. Today was our second attempt this year. We tried early January but when we got there, parking was closed and no cars along the road either. We assumed the trail was closed… we assumed wrong as we saw some posts later that day. I think we were too early before 6:30a.
This is our first for SoCal and can be challenging to find open trails early this year, with the fires.
I’m not sure if most of you guys are having difficulty finding an annual adventure pass lately but we surely did. My friend didn’t find any from Big 5 or REI. I called a couple Big 5 and only day pass is available… just a segueway.
The hike today was fairly decent, especially with the weather. There were times when the sun was not blocked by clouds but even so, we experienced intermittent breeze. It was our fastest, I ????
When we got to the top, there were at least 10 people enjoying the view and the nice weather already. There were also 3 signs this time to choose from as well. On our way back down, another big group resting near the crash site getting ready to tackle that half mile to the peak.
Another news, at least for me, that the candy store is permanently closed???? I was so looking forward for some baked goods and icy beverage.
Overall, I enjoyed this hike today????
