Long drive to the TH,but very scenic. Trail very steep down to the canyon and steeper climbing up to Sizer. To save my knees did the loop and didn’t regret it. Perfect timing with weather and trail condition.

  1. Can you please tell me about the loop? I just hammered my knees doing the long way on Mt. Umunhum. It was an oopsie. I would prefer not to hammer my knees like that. Thanks!

    1. Hi Kim, after you leave the ranger station it’s a very steep downhill into the canyon, you can’t avoided and very steep going up. But after you reached Sizer I did cross over to Jackass and it’s gentle downhill from there, also the uphill foot the finish isn’t as steep either.
