Small Peak, Big Views

Hiked with a group of friends up this challenging but approachable peak! We parked right in front of the trailhead and set off at 8am in cool, crisp air. Very much enjoyed the first miles under the cover of trees before going up along Bear Ridge, taking advantage of the morning temperatures to enjoy the views from the ridge along the way before it got too hot. Junctions on the trail were very well marked and consistent with instructions on Alltrails and other website guides. We reached the peak in about 2.5 hours and had a lovely peak “brunch,” taking in this peak’s beautiful 360 views of the whole basin. We took our time with the short stretch of challenging, slippery slopes up and down from the top, and headed back down through Bear Canyon to get some shade from the warm midday sun.
