A glorious sunny Friday in March, and a day trip to Calistoga to hike Mt St. Helena with my friend and fellow challenger, Valerie. We had cold temps but sunny and ideal conditions for viewing the Sierras and even a faint hint of Lassen Peak.

    Planning to hike this next week, wondering about the amount of snow on the trail. Do you recommend I bring my snow crampons?
