Snowy hike to Cucamonga Peak

Started our hike around 6 am. We weren’t expecting so much ice and snow.  A few solo hikers ahead of us were turning around and heading back because the trail was pretty slippery in places.  But we decided to go on.  It pretty challenging past the saddle. Since it was so early in the day and not many people had gone up ahead of us, many parts of the trail was covered with several inches of powdered snow. It was also very windy at times.  Never have I been so happy to make it to the top of a peak, and to finally feel some sunshine and have a place to sit and eat!  Overall it was a unexpected adventure.
