This was my first time to Ontario Peak and I loved it.  I had previously hiked to Cucamonga Peak so I was familiar with the trail up to Icehouse Saddle.  The weather was cool and cloudy up to the saddle and then sunny and buggy beyond it.  Steady crowds to the saddle but a lot fewer people on the trail to Ontario Peak.  Overall, it was a nice day to be up there.

But the parking situation SUCKS.  I don’t know why the trail is so much more crowded than when I have been there in past years, but it was unreal!  I arrived at 6:50 AM on a Saturday and had to park 0.5 mile away, which added a lot to the overall time and effort.  It definitely detracted from the day for me and I will go on a weekday if I ever hike this trail again.
