Spur of the moment Mission Peak summit!
Also on this hike
I had a wild hair on Sunday 5/5 to hike Mission Peak in Fremont after a rainstorm the previous day. I wanted to beat the crowds and take my 7th peak of the Bay Are Peaks challenge.
This was a just FAST training hike out and back from Oholne college covering 6.75 miles, gaining 2129 in elevation in about 2:20. I was carrying a heavy pack and my good hiking friend Melissa agreed to join me.
We hit the trail at 730 am and were at the top of the peak at about 945. The trail had a few hikers and the conditions were cool. The trail itself was not too muddy and passable.
The peak was covered with clouds when we arrived, and we only stayed a few minutes to take a few pictures of our accomplishment.
On our way down the sun broke out and the hills were green and lush. By now the crowds were heading up to the peak to enjoy the views.
We made it back to the cars about 945 and the parking garage we getting full at Ohlone.
It was a fantastic day to hike Mission Peak and thanks to Melissa for coming. I have posted all pictures here and there is a link to the All-Trails route we took.
