Steep and Rocky
I’ve officially conquered San Jacinto Peak, standing at 10,834 feet the second highest peak in SoCal.
Made the two hour drive to Idyllwild around 2 am, then made my way to the Marion Mountain Trailhead. By 4 am, I was on the trail.
The hike was steep from the start, quickly reminding me that this peak wouldn’t be easy. Every mile tested every inch of my body. There were plenty of moments when I questioned how much more I had left, but I kept pushing.
When I reached the summit, the pain and exhaustion quickly disappeared. Looking out over Palm Springs on one side and Hemet on the other, the feeling was like no other. Looking back at everything it took to get there, I realized every painful step was worth it.
