Strawberry Peak on a sunny, windless Saturday morning from 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM is an excellent, yet challenging, way to experience the highest peak in the front range of the San Gabriel Mountains.
Starting as early as possible is ideal, as it allows you to beat the peak heat and ensures a parking space.
The summit provides great views of the San Gabriel Mountains, including downtown Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean.
It was a great hike for the first peak of the 6 Peaks Challenge in 2026!
