Strawberry Peak with a Little SAR Excitement
It was a great sunny but not too hot day for my first Six Pack hike. I felt like this moderate hike was a great starter for the Six Pack and to get back into the groove of longer hikes.
The last mile, after the saddle, was quite strenuous but a great workout. About halfway to the peak, we encountered another hiker who had injured her ankle and had a group of friends surrounding her. We asked if they needed help, but she said it was already on the way, so we continued to the summit.
At the top we saw the SAR helicopter arrive to look for the injured hiker. We pointed the helicopter in the right direction and saw the hiker being airlifted away as we started our descent.
Nothing else exciting to report but it was a great day out.
