Strawberry Peak With Small Dog

My friend Joanna and I decided to hike Strawberry Peak last week as our first of the SoCal Six Pack this year. I brought my dog, Haechi, and he did well and had a great time. The trail is good for dogs because it’s not too rocky, but it has some pretty steep sections, and he doesn’t like going down those, so I carried him in my doggy backpack for a couple miles on the return.

The weather was great but it started to get warm, and there is no shade. I recommend getting a really early start, especially with bringing dogs. My pup got pretty warm on the way down, and the temp was no more than mid-70s.
