This hike was worth the wait! Took the Palm Springs Aerial Tram to San Jacinto State Park. Beware there is a fee for both the tramway and for parking. Checked in with the ranger station up in the state park to fill out my wilderness permit and I was on my way. There is a reason why this is called Long Valley. The hike seems much longer than it is, but it is really nice to have a calming stream along much of the trail. With this entire hike at high altitude, it really takes your breath away. Found the cabin, but it was really difficult to make out the “trail” from there to the summit. You just have to find a way to scramble and boulder to the top. There was still a small bit of snow to walk through to the summit and the views from the peak were gorgeous. There was plenty of wind at the top, so don’t forget to pack your jacket for this one. I see you, San Gorgonio! I’m coming for you, soon!
